Here from the start,

this might be the fourth day

me trying to convince the girl

to come with a playful kiss. 

Perhaps she’s too wise

to fall for my little tricks. 

“C’mon poet,

we do our best 

when there are no rules 

to follow.”

I can understand her point,

she is the one after all,

calling all the big 

and heavy shots 

for us. 

With no rules,

she looks straight up at this

the one in charge

of her words. 

I lean in to kiss

to my amazement 

the girl is all tight lipped. 

Eyes square into eyes,

she smiles,

and says,

“No rules,

you’ve got this.”
