The Hurt and Damage

The start of a justified edge

getting ready to push,

just as eyes are set in eyes.

I’ll ask just one time

trust Me, I’ll not ask again.

Here against

a dark and impending storm

the sky is ready to burst

heavy are the flames.

I love the quietness

just before this change.

Grace and her beautiful charms

out on display,

she’s here to show the world

that on nights like this,

she not afraid,

to show us flame and fury.

The thrill in protecting us

from these sharp and jagged edges

is enough to push her

to make sure

we’re safe from harm.

This strong and handsome woman

I’d gladly lay at her feet

gently kiss her ache away,

because eventually,

all this hurt

will one day

fade away.
