The Mother Daughter bond

unlike any other one. 

A daughter must go forth 

pick and choose more carefully 

with that strong intuition

a mother leads by example

generations depend on her. 

Gender or otherwise,

if it weren’t for our mothers

we’d have less to celebrate 

so when a mother leaves us

the void is immeasurable. 

Some of us donate trees and benches

honoring their love

sometimes tough and difficult

however we got here

being single, or on the verge

parenting is our greatest reward. 

Keep talking to her

stare at the eyes in the mirror 

comfort the others
 
be a brave sister, mom, or wife. 

Today we stand and celebrate

laugh and talk about 

the ache.
