Memory Fold

To the porch
I sit back there
to simply remember
the heavy miles
back to you love.
Each time I try
to call on you
the faded morning
stops me from dialing
all because
I’m not used to
drinking from
paper cups.
Late summer nights
I can still remember
how my skin
remained frozen in awe
as you kissed every inch.
The last time
I closed my eyes
I found myself
still loving you.
I am perhaps
just a memory fold
not really knowing
this was my last
drive home by myself.
I think I miss your voice
the most though
because you have this way
of pulling me back
with no fight
all it takes is
one more time please.
I take a single flower
to count the petals
she loves me,
she loves me not,
each fucking time
it ends the same way
she loves me.
The sweet part
in all of this
I feel the same way
I love her too
the sad part
I can’t
tell her though.
