Not Enough

I pointed out
the sky’s color
I’ve not quite seen
anything as beautiful,
and yet,
this is where
I fell in love.
Abbey
forgive me
I know all of this
is not enough
to calm and quiet
that side of you
I can’t quite
get enough of,
so instead,
come do something
with me.
We could
go play violins
just underneath
this beautiful sky
I can clearly
see you in
each and every thought
I can come up with.
Abbey
beautiful
was never enough
it hardly described
how soft your eyes
met mine
with that infectious smile
the room noticed
your focused look.
Your rough voice
always sounds like
you’re in a hurry
trying to teach me
how to use
my words.
Abbey,
I wonder if
you would mind
if I just laid here
stared as you slept
keeping track
of time
not knowing if
it’ll ever be
enough.
