There’s been plenty time
to have memorized
that heart shaped design
some call a birth mark.
I’ve played this over
a thousand different ways
thank goodness there’s something
beautiful about you.
It’s never been easy
saying I love you,
the real truth
I can hardly breathe
when you’re this far away,
love and all its intentions
I built a greenhouse
because I knew
you loved how everything looks
in full bloom.
Let me tell you
your eyes would overdose
the beauties are bursting
showing off all their colors
each little blossom
has its own look.
I promised you hours
taking care of all the plants
in my self contained
little garden of Eden.
I’ve recreated a place
where love’s lust
can be watered.
I dare you to take a bite
crawl on th muddied ground
I promise not to leave your side
we could, you know
feel for the first time
and get all buried.
You and your tepid emotions
I promise to remove the pressure
there in our hot little house
where the air is flooded
buried in gardenia scent
there’s just one promise
you’ll come strictly at night.
I want to show you
this set of lights
that would perfectly highlight
those delicate curves of yours.
Under a full moon
in an absolute downpour
I promise to take my time
showing you all the pretty flowers
just as long as you promise
you’ll show me
that heart-shaped
birthmark.
